About this policy

This policy sets out how Booki.com.au Pty Ltd (we, us, our), trading as KnuckleBet, collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It covers knucklebet.co and every related service.

Notice of collection

Most of what we hold comes straight from you — when you open an account, verify your identity, deposit or withdraw, place bets, or get in touch. Without the information we need (to confirm your age and identity, say), we may not be able to open or run your account. As you use the site we also gather device, usage and transaction data automatically.

Information we collect

Your identity and contact details, date of birth, the government identifiers we use to verify you, your transaction and betting history, device and usage data, and any messages you send us.

Why we collect it

To open and run your account, confirm your identity and age, meet our AML/CTF and racing-integrity duties, handle payments, catch fraud, help you when you need support, back responsible gambling, and satisfy our legal and regulatory obligations.

Identity verification

The AML/CTF Act 2006 (Cth) requires us to verify your identity before you bet. We may rely on document checks and accredited electronic verification services. This data is never used for marketing unless you consent.

Disclosure

We share personal information with identity-verification providers, payment processors, regulators (the Northern Territory Racing and Wagering Commission (NTRWC) and AUSTRAC among them), racing-control bodies for integrity work, and law enforcement where the law requires it. We never sell your personal information.

Age verification & minor data protection

We apply strict 18+ verification before collecting any data. If we do accidentally collect information about someone under 18 — say where the age gate is bypassed — we keep it out of any overseas transfer, delete it at once rather than retain it, never use it for marketing, analytics or profiling, and never pass it to third parties. For verified adults, personal information may be processed overseas as set out below.

Overseas disclosure

A few of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. When information goes overseas, we take reasonable steps to see that it is handled in line with the APPs.

Security & retention

We protect the information we hold with reasonable security safeguards and keep it only as long as the law requires — seven years for transaction records under the AML/CTF Rules, for example — then securely destroy or de-identify it.

Your rights

To see or correct the personal information we hold about you, email support@knucklebet.co. We reply within a reasonable time, and if we cannot grant access or make a change we tell you why. Requests are free.

Direct marketing

We send marketing only where the law permits. You can opt out whenever you like from your account or through the unsubscribe link in any message. Signing up to BetStop takes you off marketing from every licensed provider.

Making a privacy complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email support@knucklebet.co. We acknowledge within 2 business days and reply within 30 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner — oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992.

Sensitive information

We do not collect sensitive information — health, racial or religious details, for instance — unless you offer it during a responsible-gambling conversation or a complaint, and then only to help you. We put it to no other use.

Automated decision-making

Automated tools help us spot fraud, gauge identity-verification risk and pick up signs of gambling harm. They may flag an account for a person to review; any significant decision about you involves a human, and you can ask us to explain it.

Children

This site is for adults 18 and over. We never knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger. If we find that an account belongs to a minor, we close it and void any bets.
